E-Mark Certificate Validity

Many people wonder how long the E-Mark certificate for car lights is valid.

The answer is: no expiration date and is always valid.

However, as society progresses, the certification content specified by regulations will be updated according to the current social conditions. For example, R20 is changed to R112, and R57 is changed to R113. Nevertheless, the original certificates like R20 and R57 are still valid because E-Mark certificates are permanently valid.

To emphasize performance and reduce technical regulations, new regulations R148, R149, and R150 were issued on November 15, 2019. After November 15, 2021, all car lights installed on new vehicles must comply with the new regulatory framework.
